A few Chinese phrases go a long way, especially if you’re in a remote area where very little English might be spoken. Here are a few to give you a head start:
- Ni-hao
Hello - Zai jian
Goodbye - Xie xie
Thank you - Qing wen zen mo zou?
Will you show me the way to - Zou ba
Let’s go - Duo shao qian?
How much? - Tai gui le!
It’s too expensive! - Pian yi dian
Give me a lower price - Hao chi!!
It’s delicious! - Zhè gè chē qù Chángchéng ma?
Does this coach go to the Great Wall?
