STA Travel launches Edge of the Earth space travel

Media Release - 17 March 2008

THE price might be a little out-there, but it’s hard to imagine a bigger holiday blast than soaring 60,000 feet to the edge of the earth’s atmosphere in a super-powered jet plane - the closest you can get to travelling in space.

From AUD $33,000*, STA Travel can strap cosmos adventurers in for this five-day experience of a lifetime in Moscow, Russia, complete with luxury hotel accommodation, some meals, airport transfers, a tour of the Monino Air Museum and the exhilarating MiG-31 Jet Fighter flight to the edge of the earth.

The Edge of the Earth space experience allows space thrill-seekers to see the world from a perspective only a fortunate few will ever encounter, with the infinite blackness of space disappearing out one window and the curvature of the earth evident in the other.

Participants are briefed and fitted into special suits prior to the astronomical adrenaline rush of the MiG-31 Jet Fighter flight to the fringe of space.

After travelling to space, the remainder of the package includes a private guided tour through the largest aviation museum in Russia and plenty of time to explore the fascinating city of Moscow at your own pace.

The Edge of the Earth space travel trips run daily until the end of the year, however travellers need to allow 45 days prior to liftoff for clearance.

For bookings or further information about this Russian jet fighter flight package or a range of other supersonic space travel trips available through STA Travel, call 134 782 or visit www.statravel.com.au/space-travel.htm
