The idea behind it all is simple – Budget Expeditions trips use top quality overland trucks and experienced crew, but maximise the number of nights spent under canvas and the group meals prepared in camp (both of which are very hands-on) to keep accommodation and food costs incredibly low. Like most overland operators, Budget Expeditions have a ‘Local Fund’ payable on arrival to cover on the road costs such as accommodation, campsite fees and camp food. However, unlike other operators, Budget Expeditions will refund any unused cash at the end of the trip.
