What we are after

We’re growing fast and we are continually on the look out for bright, honest, passionate travellers to share their love of travel and travel stories with our valued travellers. Essentially we are looking for great sales people so it is imperative that you come to us with a solid background in sales.

You have probably seen our motto ‘We know because we go’. To honour that motto with our customers it is essential that you have a wealth of personal international travel experience. Generally we would expect that you have travelled through at least two continents (excluding New Zealand and Australia).  Previous experience in the Travel and Tourism industry and / or a qualification in Travel and Tourism is also a bonus.

The Training we provide

If you have got what it takes then we will equip you with all the tools you will ever need to be a savvy and very successful Travel Adviser.

Your formal training program commences from your first day with an intensive 8-day course in a group learning environment at one of our National Training Centres. This course is facilitated by an STA Travel trainer extrordinaire and will provide you with the skills required to get started in the branch and get busy dealing selling travel.

As you progress further into your role, there is a structured training program that you participate in which enables you to consistently develop your strengths as a Travel Adviser.

For those wanting to progress their career to a Branch Management level, there is the Trainee Management Program, which is run on a quarterly basis to help prepare our budding BSMs of tomorrow for the challenges ahead. There is also a program to develop the leadership skills of our existing managers.

We believe in investing time and training in developing the skills of our of people. People are the backbone to our success.

ATTTO Workplace Training

STA Travel has a commitment to providing the opportunity continuous professional development.  Therefore STA Travel works with ATTTO to provide a workplace training program that will allow all new staff to train towards national qualifications whilst working in the branch.  So we pay you to get qualified!

These qualifications are as follows:

National Certificate in Tourism and Travel Core Skills Level 3
National Certificate in Travel Level 3
National Certificate in Travel Level 4

All new employees are automatically enrolled on this program and the cost of registration is paid by the company.

What will you receive?

Everyone who works at STA Travel, including the MD, has an incentive-based salary structure.  In that way we are all focused on achieving the same targets and results.

As a Travel Adviser, your total salary package will consist of a base salary, uncapped monthly commission payments, branch budget bonuses and an annual productivity bonus. Individual salary outcomes will fluctuate from person to person, depending on sales volume. But basically the sky is the limit! The more you sell, the more you will earn!

As well as the uncapped incentive based salary structure you will also be eligible to take advantage of a host of employee benefits. These include, just to name a few: discounted travel benefits, educational participation including up to 5 days educational leave per year, staff counselling service, emergency loan assistance, study grant assistance and of course, we know how to throw a great party!
