STA TRAVEL INTRODUCES ONLINE BODY SHOTS TO THE SPRING BREAK CROWD

(DALLAS – Nov. 1, 2006)  This fall you don’t have to be in the bar or on the beach to take a body shot.  STA Travel, the worldwide leader in student and youth travel, is starting Spring Break early with the launch of STA Body Shots.

The STA Body Shots interactive video gets the Spring Break party started now at www.stabodyshots.com.  Participants take virtual body shots off a myriad of characters such as the hot ripped jock, the blonde bombshell, the smooth ladies man, the nerdy girl and more.

The inspiration for STA Body Shots comes from the 1.5 million Spring Breakers that travel to the beach each year.  “Spring Breakers enjoy letting loose and having a good time.  This video was created to get students excited about that one week in the spring where there are no teachers, text books, or limits to fun,” said Kristen Celko, STA Travel North America - Vice President of Marketing/E-Commerce.

The video is filmed from the shot taker’s perspective, bringing the characters to life with hilarious audio and video.  The viewer can send a customized shot to their friends with a personal message.  At the end of the video, the player receives an STA Travel coupon for Spring Break discounts good at any STA Travel branch or the national call center.

The STA Body Shots video was created by Slingshot, an advertising and marketing agency located in Dallas.

“This is just a great example of a client who really knows their customers. In this case, we were going after the 21+ college crowd. When it comes to viral for that bunch, you’ve really got to push it to get any traction. STA Travel was with us on that from the start,” said David Coats, Executive Creative Director, Slingshot.

“The online video is a relevant (not to mention shamefully entertaining) way to connect to our consumer. We anticipate it will spread like wildfire among our student demographic and look forward to monitoring the results,” Celko said.

The video has received approximately 32,000 views since its launch five days ago.
