What's you favorite hidden spot in Europe and how did you find it?
The Flying Pig Beach Hostel in Noordwijk, about 45 minutes outside Amsterdam! We found it simply by asking for advice.
We were standing at a train station in Antwerp on the phone with a hostel agent. He mentioned the Flying Pig and it turned out to be great advice.

Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Malaysia, Indonesia, Costa Rica, Namibia, South Africa, the U.K., Ireland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Spain, Italy, Vatican City, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, France, Monaco, Greece, Austria, and Switzerland. | I was on standing on the back part of a ferry going from Koh Samui to Koh Pha Ngan in Thailand taking in the amazing sunrise (and trying to stabilize myself after a hard night of taking in the Thai nightlife and functioning off of pretty much zero sleep) when I noticed the once white sea foam stirring in the motion of the motors started to turn a greyish color and then a heard a huge thump followed by smoke. I backed up and saw a Thai crew member and signaled to him that something didn’t look right. All of the sudden there was a moment of chaos while a group of Thai men ran to the back of the ferry and yelled for everyone to move inside. Come to find out one of the motors blew up and my very hung over friends and I were stuck bobbing up and down in the middle of the very choppy ocean for more than four hours until the wonderful crew finally fixed the problem and saved us. Needless to say, even though I made it back to land, I felt like I was swaying for days. |
Taking a year off to revisit some of the countries I’ve been to and just spending more time there. |
