World Travel Awards 2010

STA Travel is on top of the world for the second consecutive year, after being voted Australasia’s Leading Travel Agency at the World Travel Awards last week.

STA Travel claimed the title for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific in a gala event at the five-star Claridges Surajkund in Delhi.

Described as the ‘Oscars’ of the global travel and tourism industry by the Wall Street Journal, the awards recognise excellence in all aspects of travel services including product range, customer service, company culture and technology. This year, a phenomenal 185,000 consumers and industry professionals worldwide participated in the online voting process.

Managing Director of STA Travel Asia Pacific, Michelle Cox, said the company was thrilled to receive the back-to-back accolade.

“It’s a real privilege to be recognised and as a business, we couldn’t be more delighted,” Ms Cox said.

“We’ve worked exceptionally hard this year to give the STA Travel brand a new lease on life and to ensure our growing product range matches the needs and wants of our customers.”

Over 5000 travel companies were nominated in more than 1000 different categories for the 2010 World Travel Awards.
