Okay, so you’ve probably heard about the iconic Machu Picchu right? We thought so. But hold up, there is sooooo much more to Peru than just being home to one of the Seven Wonders of the World. So get your pen and notepad at the ready and start adding these epic natural sights to your Peru to-dos..
1. Nazca lines
Much mystery still surrounds The Nazca Lines, despite the fact that they have existed over 1,500 years. With the drawings covering nearly 200 square miles there is no way you can miss these iconic ancient geoglyphs, etched into the desert sands.
2. Rainbow Mountain
This is well worth the wait! After several hundred years, this colourful sensation was hidden beneath sheets of ice and now you have the chance to ogle at this rainbow-striped mountain in the Andes.
3. Sandboarding in Huacachina
Want a true adrenaline rush, or to do something completely bonkers!? Then strap in and hurl yourself down a several hundred feet high sand dune in a 4-wheel-drive buggy in Huacachina. Once you are at the top of the mighty dunes, skip the scenic route back and instead enjoy the ride down as you surf the dunes on a sand board.
4. Laguna 69 Peru
It may sound like a title of a reality show, but Laguna 69 is in fact a natural wonder that should be at top of your list when in Peru. Plunge into the crystal-clear waters of this unspoilt lake perched 4,600m above sea level, after the early morning climb. No Instagram filter will do this place justice.
5. Paracas Peninsula
Welcome to Paracas Peninsula: Where the desert meets the ocean. Marvel at this landscape of contrasts with the deep red sands and the golden orange desert just behind.
